Don't be razzing on Swiss watches unless you have a German made Lange.

Sorry for a bit of a late reply, but that 70k figure was derived for what the typical well optioned, with the mid sized engine, mid-sized German sedan goes for now days. Maybe we can get a bit back on topic about what you'd buy for that 60-80k budget, just to give some wiggle room around my original 70k price.

The M4 allocations were much more than the M3 allocations. The M3s, being slightly rarer, are going for more despite the $2k premium for new M4s. It doesn't hurt that a lot of M3s were ordered and optioned, meaning that there were more stripped M4s than stripped M3s. With prices ranging from $65k (stripper) to $110k (optioned), the breadth also hurts resale a little bit. Also, the introduction of the ZCP, $130k GTS, and now the CS, the M3/4 loses a little bit more of it's resale.
Forget the GTS, there are currently 37 2016 units sitting and collecting dust. Who is really willing to pay 139-149k for one of these when they can jump into an exotic.

The interior of the LCs I've seen is $100k nice.

I just looked at current M3/M4 inventory, my god they are getting expensive. 70k is the new stripper and over 100k for fully optioned. How many can BMW find that can really afford these 100k compact sports cars these days anymore. I remember back in the days the M3 going for 50k range.

4.4 0-60
471 hp
398 lb-ft @ 4,800 RPM
4280lbs.
We just talked about questionable spending on a $100k M3/4, yet the M3/4 is lighter and faster than the LC. And $30k more than the RC-F? Is this $30k worth of performance?
Granted the LC looks subjectively cooler, nicer interior, but I would expect better numbers from Lexus' current top performance car for the masses. I'm not sure why Toyota/Lexus is so in love with the heavy V8. The sound?

uh, 20 mos?
excellent choices. ![Agreed](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/boink.gif)
100k ain't what is used to be.
when you say abandoned, you mean people who order them don't end up buying them? if so, isn't there a non-refundable deposit on a special order?
first off, the LC isn't for the 'masses' ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
second, 4.4 0-60 is hardly slow.
third, it was never meant to be an m3 competitor, more of a fast luxury cruiser (kinda like an mb sl or bmw 6)
fourth, the interior is quite luxurious, not 'racer' like
you go to war with the weapons you have.
For me right now, a sedan around $70k would be the Genesis G90 Ultimate, just like Steve. SUV would be a nicely optioned Q7 Prestige. Fun car would be a Corvette Grand Sport convertible, probably a 2LT with some options.

The LC looks much nicer than the RC-F, but you are right, I just looked up the numbers and it's kind of disappointing.

Under $100k, to me, is for the masses. At least compared to the LFA. The LC is the current top Lexus performance car that's attainable is what I mean.

Does it have to be new? if not, I would get a Bentley Flying Spur. You can get a pretty nice one for $70K not too old and pretty low mileage. I hear they are pretty reliable. Not a Honda but still...Love the styling.

The LC is just on an entirely different level than the RC, even the RCF. Much more special feeling car.

Good luck getting 4.4 0-60 with the LC when the RCF has a very hard time achieving it being 300 pounds lighter.
Toyota is just being lazy with no new R&D and sticking old "modified" ISF engines in the RCF, GSF and LC. That's why the sales number for RCF and GSF are so low, forcing heavy heavy discounts.
The sound is a joke. Just like BMW, just pumped out of the speakers.
