Turboing the 2J
Hello everyone!
This will be my first time posting here on the forums.
I own a 1996 SC300 (5 spd) and would like to get it turbo'd, but I want to source the parts myself and try to tackle as much of it as possible. Was wondering if anyone knows if there is a specified list/guide of parts needed to get the 2JZ boosted. Learning to do something like this has been a goal of mine for some time, any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Search, search, and search the SC forums, tons of threads about the NA to Turbo swap as they call it.
Also get on the Supra forums, lots of info on how to turbo a naturally aspirated car. They made a lot of Supras with the N/A 2JZ-GE motor as well.
I will say you did pick a good year for the car, 1996 is still OBDI so a bit easier in terms of computer control, also the bottom end for a 1996 is more robust than the VVT-i 2JZ-GE in later model cars. I do know you will need a transmission swap as well, the stock W-56 isn't good for much more than 300-350rwhp, even then it might break. But at least your car is already manual, you don't have to fool with the auto to manual swap headaches(wiring, cutting hole in the floorpan, sourcing new shifter, console, pedals, gauge cluster, driveshaft, etc)
