this has even afflicted lexus big time... dealers keep very limited inventory with lots of ES and RX because they are easy sales... well it's self-fulfilling, if a dealer never has a hybrid GS450h in stock, no one will ever experience it and it won't sell.

Yeah, I think the C8 did steal some thunder. Those will obviously go for way over MSRP, but when they start depreciating, and getting into the 50s, it'll be interesting to see how they shake up the whole sports car market.

Some dealers marked up the $97K MSRP RC-F Track Edition to $120K dealers will be dealers especially on numbered cars.
You can buy a base Supra for $48K, the Launch Editions being a numbered car were marked up but you can still find under $60K. Paying $90K makes no sense but some folks have to have them now and aren't willing to really shop around.

While I'm sure there are dealers with significant markups, the Corvette forums are awash with dealers across the country that are committing to straight MSRP--no discount, no markup--on any reservations. That's probably part of the reason they're close to selling out the full 2020 production run.
