Well the Supra was $50k back in the 90s. The expectation was perhaps that it would be more expensive and faster to keep up with the big boys.

the drag strip has too many other factors that influence the outcome besides just power, the real measure of performance is with the 60-130 pull
with its AWD and incredible launch control system the GT-R would just get a major initial lead every time, unless toyota made an AWD supra and who wants that

I just laughed and walked out.
Good luck to these horrible dealers that ruin the whole purchase experience with their markups and snotty attitudes.
That's ridiculous, you should call and reach the actual manager and say you had a check written for the car. That might change their tune.

I got referred to a local dealership here in the SF Bay Area. Got the car ordered and should get it in 2-3 weeks, at MSRP. Impressions soon....

Maybe, but that is a stretch for a Toyota branded sports car.

The 300z, 3000GT and RX7 was in the $50k range or close to it so I fully expect the GTR cost more than that.

Either way, your aren't going to see a Toyota branded sports car anywhere close to the price range needed to compete with a $113k GTR. And as much as I don't like the BMW DNA, it's a good car for what it is.

i think only because there's Lexus these days, Toyota still wants people to have a reason to get the RC-F

I'd much rather have RC-F than the Supra. Wouldn't think twice.

yea no s hit lol... it's way more awesome
but if the supra had the LS 500's ttv6 with bigger turbos and turned up to about 650-700hp i wouldn't really want the RC anymore

I think i'd rather the Supra. Its faster, handles better, and isn't such a pig. The RCF weighs a gazillion lbs

that's why there just needs to be a faster BRZ model
there's currently no toyota that's really fast
and comfortable for long trips

Good to hear you got it for MSRP. Looking forward to your driving impressions. Don't compare it to the MKIV. Haha.
