That Lexus Atomic Silver is some paint job.

Yeah, I see a similar result when I try the site I got my touch-up stuff from. Infrared comes with a base coat and mid coat, but Atomic Silver does not.
Notice the Infrared has four pens pictured, but Atomic Silver only gets three.
So now I am intrigued where this myth that it is a five-stage paint comes from. All I can say is, it is a beautiful color and will be missed.

There's probably at least some truth to the "five stage" process if you also add the primer-coat and the anti-corrosion layer that goes under the paint itself. Long gone are the days when vehicles are painted like Earl Sheib used to do for $29.95 LOL.

Then every Lexus has “5 stage paint” lol.

Pretty much par for the course these days. Automakers typically offer a 100K or more rust-through warranty for the original paint-jobs. Like I said above, you can't do that with an Earl Sheib special.

Point is atomic silver is not a multi-coat paint, it’s a dual stage metallic paint that’s all.
