Default Japaneese made 2015+ cars and radioactivity

I've hear some people talk about radioactive cars that made people sick on the long run and started to raise up the question upon the Can and US authorities.

I was wondering if the cars (or parts) made in Japan were contaminated in radioactivity.

Here are few reports:

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/n...tive/index.htm

https://integrityexports.com/japan-c...ation-testing/

http://autoweek.com/article/car-news...g-central-asia

Some report say its a myth but another says that in 2015, you had about a 1 in 5000 chance of getting one of those cars.

The best answer you can get is to test it yourself with a Radiation meter.

Its kind of an unspoken issue. Its not just about the cars, but other products that are exported from that region, not to mention the fish we get for our sushi

Well, our sushi fish like salmon & tuna should be mostly locally caught, or did radioactive sea water of significant concentration crossed the pacific already ?

As Hillary would have said, "a big nothingburger."

Ever since Three Mile Island the public has had an irrational fear of radiation. Care to guess how many died of radiation as a result of Fukushima? Zero. Some 34 elderly DID die during the panicked mass evacuations, but not due to radiation.

Chernobyl, the worst nuclear screwup in history, did have emergency responders die from massive exposure inside the reactor housing immediately after the meltdown. Since then, however, things are markedly different. An official US study of the after-effects of Chernobyl has concluded that the increase in thyroid cancer victims (where radioactive contaminants are concentrated in the body) is predicted to be so slight as to probably be undetectable when compared to the naturally-occurring numbers of thyroid cancers.

So I wouldn't worry about "contaminated" Jananese autos.

^^ Radiation poisoning that causes immediate death is not something the general public worries about. It is the aftermath and the long term effects. I would be interested to see that US study because Im not convinced we fully understand the long term effects.

As for sushi, a lot of mid to high end restaurants do have imported fish from Japan. Only the more mainstream salmon, tuna is US or Canadian farm grown usually.

need to look at radiation in perspective, just because something has radiation doesnt mean its bad. Need to look at lethal levels. Bananas inherently have radioactivity in them because of the potassium. To get just start feeling sick from radiation you'd have to eat tens of millions of them. Your glow in the dark products, all radioactive. People need to stop it with this omg radiation scaremongering nonsense

you yourself contain radioactivity. Run for the hills!

2.Thyroid cancer66.A substantialincrease in thyroid cancer incidence hasoccurred in the three republics (the whole of Belarus andUkraine, and the four most affected regions of the RussianFederation) since the Chernobyl accident among thoseexposed as children or adolescents. Amongst those underage 14 years in 1986, 5,127 cases (under age 18 years in1986, 6,848 cases) of thyroid cancer were reported between1991 and 2005 [I8].67.Figure VIIIdemonstrates that in Belarus, after theChernobyl accident in 1986, thyroid cancer incidence ratesamong children under age 10 years increased dramatically

Just googled official study.

Interesting, considering that radiation is often used to treat cancer.
