Yes, a N.American thing, you should compare the same issue with rear bumpers of the AMG GT's, N.America vs. rest of the world, even worse than this

I wonder the design rational. Its a shame they aren't just removable trim pieces

Those are called "bumperettes." They are extremely dated and downmarket, harking back to dying on the vine American clunkers of the 80's and 90's. I have no idea what good Mercedes was thinking on an otherwise sassy barge.

hehe that S63 coupe looks pretty amazing to me. I mean the things around the plates are minor. Major design flaws as far as looks go are something like the 2018 accord.

My uncle gave me some license plates from Munich (why 2 sets are still valid I was afraid to ask because I heard it's serious if you lose plates in Germany[third set I guess are temp as they have expiration dates embossed on the side]), and they are different sizes. Maybe that's why no pieces in Europe?

I was looking to see if mb did something with that ugly steering wheel.
Did MB actually listened to (any) customers who complained about that?

Other than that, S class is still dusting all of these of flagships.

I dont particularly like the new one either and i think moving the cruise control buttons there adds too much clutter

Yeah but Bentley interiors are much nicer/mostly handmade and they have much more presence then a Mercedes. I still like the new S class though, hopefully the 6 cylinder brings the price down. I think they may be asking too much from a 4.0 liter turbo with those increasing power levels and it may affect reliability.

Wasn't the sedan but a black S63 AMG coupe was stuck in commuter traffic with me a few days ago. The presence is unbelievable. Two newish Accord coupes were around too, so it was fun to compare the body styles. Taught V8 tux in a suit vs V6 in cargo pants
