Window tints in NYC
https://dmv.ny.gov/registration/tinted-windows
What do you guys do about NYS inspection nowadays? I was getting my new car inspected that doesn't have tints yet and the dude told me there's no way they'd pass me if they were tinted. Apparently, each shop has a device that checks the windows. Do you just peel the two front tints before the inspection and pay a shop to redo the two front windows? I am planning on doing 35% tint in the next few days and I'd like to hear back on how the rest of you are dealing with this.

- The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light.
- Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window.

Actually, this article can explain it better than I can. It includes a useful video.

I think the lower the % goes the darker the windows get. So the legal amount is 70% which is basically no tint. I believe stock windows come with 92% for UV protection... I understand the safety concerns but 70% is not fair.
