When purchasing my 2016 Lexus hybrid, I told the salesperson at Longo Lexus that I wanted full coverage/ never have to pay for regular maintenance etc. Fine, they said and I paid $2,500.00 for a Platinum coverage. Now, at 15,000 miles they tell me that I didn't purchase the correct policy - a pre-paid maintenance plan for an additional $1,700.00. I asked the dealership if I could cancel the Platinum coverage and purchase the Maintenance plan since this was not brought up at purchase and they said, no, had to buy before 5,000 mies. What do I do?
While I agree that salespeople can embellish the situation in order to close a deal, this likely was a mistunderstanding at the dealership, or possibly the salesperson doesn't know the difference, etc. On the 3rd gen forum/LS, a customer was told that his steering vibration is likely the result of bad cv joints. Is that a lie, given that the car does not have CV joints? Technically yes, but more an indication that the dealer doesn't know nor care about what they're doing. It's not that aytpical in this day and age...
I agree, I don't think anybody lied here, it was just a misunderstanding as to what it was you wanted. I'm sure the dealer would have been happy to sell you another high profit add on item

I agree with Steve...I don't think they lied. Longo generally has a good reputation. It is known all over the country for its policies and customer service.
