It'll be sold with big discounts after a little bit. Everything in that segment is. Different world than 2007.

Did anyone catch that the new LS has manual seatbelt height adjustments?

Yeah I noticed that, it’s a shame IMHO.

Yes, disappointing to see a step backwards. However, I rarely used the power-adjustable version and neither did any front passenger.

The step back to manual seatbelt height adjustments is likely a combination of cost cutting and potentially bringing them back in three years when the mid-cycle comes just to say “hey we added something” . Lexus jumbles features all the time. Rain Sensing wipers, power folding side mirrors, AFS, and ventilated seats to name a few, have all been optional, not available, re-packaged, standard, at some point on Lexus vehicles.

Anybody watch the NFL game last night and see the Lexus commercials that included the LS500? There was one commercial dedicated to the F Sport line which said "includes a 5 Liter V8" and showed the LS in the lineup (I may have missed something but didn't know a 5L V8 was a possibility for the LS- this commercial made it sound as if all F Sports would have that). There was another Lexus commercial showing off the pedestrian avoidance (which also was an LS500 F Sport I believe- there was a badge near the front tire). Car looked awesome in both commercials. Good exterior color, good wheels, looked fantastic in motion and the styling is really growing on me. A lot. It appears to be a car that will stand out from the crowd design-wise.

I have seen the marketing material say. "All F cars have a 5.0 liter as the engine". Perhaps it was something like that.

How about the headrests....not that I use them, except for the first time I adjusted my seat position....

Sounds like that was similar to what was said on the commercial. I just wasn't aware that the LS500 F Sport would come with a different engine than the LS500.

It doesn't. The F Sport has the same engine as all other LS500s.

Headrests are more power adjustable than before. Not just up down but in and out as well.

Sad to hear the Autoweek podcast about the new LS. They liked it. But those coming from past generations may not. Not smooth on rough roads and Lexus has gone away from the past LS formula of smooth refined type of vehicle.

Lots of conflicting reports on ride. Need to drive them for myself. I think a lot of the variables may be based on tires and suspension choice, are people driving the F Sport? 20s on runflats? The runflats concern me themselves.

I think if the reports are conflicting then it's not good. Autoweek was clear the ride has changed. As for runflats, apparently the LC rides like a dream in comfort mode. So I am sure they can get it right.

I think it’s all about expectations. I’m sure the LC doesn’t ride anything like an LS, it’s not supposed to. Alex on Autos gave the LC a B ride score while th LS got an A+ “clearly at least as nice a ride as the S Class”

We’ll see.
