I already posted about this but here it is again.

Denso part numbers
23250-20030
23250-20040

Lexus part numbers
23209-20030
23209-20040

23250-20030=23209-20030 same part
23250-20040=23209-20040 same part

This person is hell bent on believing they got ripped off no matter what.

Post a picture of the packaging so we can see what the Lexus part number is, NOT the Denso part number.

from your pic it shows (ON THE PART)
23250-00030 on yours and
23250-00040 on theirs

maybe the '10' difference is just a minor revision and the 40 is still compatible with the 30?
I am willing to use it, if it works. However, in the past I had installed a knock sensor with a slightly different part number and my car started to act up, codes came up etc...had to take the car apart all over again to reinstall the old knock sensor.

That's the correct part for your car see here

That part number changes up, you can verify this on multiple parts sites here's one example

First site just says 23250, with all due respect, this means nothing to me.

The second website, says that 23209-20040 replaces the 23209-20030...on the Toyota Highlander.

You seem inclined to believe that lexuspartsnow is right, if you could point me to a source that states the compatibility between 20040 and 20030, on a 2005 lexus es330, I might be more inclined to stick this part on my car after spending long hours taking the car apart. Personally, I would prefer having the same part number as the old one.

edit: I'm not linking those part numbers, seems to happening automatically on the ipad.

I can give an example of what seems to be an inconsistency--a radiator cap for a 2006 LS430. Some catalogs show it's not the same as 2001-2005, others show it is the same. Why would it be any different, if the radiator is the same? For this, I would include my VIN, and/or maybe just go to the local dealership....

The parts look exactly the same to me, just a different color. So that explains why the dealer wants to charge you a restocking fee.

If the part will work on my car, then I'm fine with that. However, I recently installed a knock sensor on my car that looked exactly the same as the old knock sensor. My car started to overreact and idle at high rpm, code for knock sensor came up. Took the car apart again and compared the part numbers, the part number was slightly off, just like in this case. Installed the old one back on (adter spending hours taking everything apart again) and the car worked fine.

Case in point. Parts can look exactly the same and even have almost identical part numbers, but the exact part number matters. That was the lesson that I learned from this experience.

once again..

take your VIN# to a dealer and have them cross reference the part numbers and superseded part number for the part you are talking about..

they can tell you that your VIN uses this part and that said part has been or has not been superseded by a different part number.

if you want to know for certain 100% this is the ONLY WAY to do it.

So 20209-20030 is the same part number as 23209-20040 which was the part that was sent. You are completely right congratulations on proving your point. lol.

I'm on the ipad, so certain interactive features don't work for me.

On lexuspartsnow...lol.

Thanks for that. If that holds true, then my concern is that the part has been downgraded (seems easy to find 20040 for 60 bucks, 20030 seems to have a much higher price point).

as stated, this can simply mean that the older part number is harder to find, no longer being purchased in bulk, or is provided by a different supplier with a different price point... all of these play a part in the retail pricing.. it has no bearing on the quality of the part seeing as they are both from the same manufacturer.

Tried purchasing fuel injectors. They sent the wrong part number (from the one displayed on the payment page i.e. the part number that I paid for was not the part number that I got,
They didn't send you the wrong part and in fact they sent you exactly the part number in the listing, the one you added to your cart and the one you paid for proven by the photo you posted of the box.
