Lexus says no heavy braking for the first 160 miles, and avoid full throttle acceleration and driving at consistent speeds for like 625 miles. I looked.

I seriously don't see it in my manual, but if something was there, I doubt I would care. This is not the 1960's. Tolerances are much tighter and any engine break in is just overkill.

And for those of you so worried about the next owner of my new Pacifica I’ve had for one week I did out of curiosity look it up in the manual for that too, and it says “drive moderately for the first 300 miles”. It has over 300 miles on it already, and I would describe the way it was driven as “moderately” lol

i'm sure 'break in' is in the manual because of lawyers to guard against the fact that the owner is likely unfamiliar with the vehicle. then if they guess the wrong pedal at least they won't floor it if they're being as the manual expects.

Lawyers probably write 90% of what is in the manuals. And, in some cases, even THAT isn't good enough. My LaCrosse occasionally flashes a message, across the video screen, in English (Spanish is also programmable) telling the driver not to take their eyes off the road too much to fiddle with the screen....that doing so can cause an accident LOL. One must tap the "I Acknowledge" part to get past it.

If anybody is interested in a nice Kia Sedona trade, mine is listed now:
https://www.fairoaksmotors.com/used/...4fe123a7dd.htm
I'll be interested to see if they can get that price for it (they paid me $25,000)...
