Wow, why do I see so many NSX styling cues in this Tesla?

Looks far far better than the Honda IMO, the NSX looks awkward and ungainly from several angles. Too busy.

Is anyone else bummed that we might not have internal combustion engines in cars in the near future?

Don't get me wrong , a car that can 0-60 in 1.9 seconds is great, but that alone does not make the car. I would rather have an awsome sounding car that does slower, ie Benz GTR

Corrected for you.

Personally, I don't care about the speed.....I just don't like the idea of having a car that has to be plugged in every night, or every other night, especially if there is a power failure.

How much do you drive in a day that you would be charging a 200+ mile range car every night.

Full-electrics (and, for that matter, extended range plug-in hybrids) that are running on electrics alone are affected by a lot more than simple driving distance. How hard you accelerate, how many electrical accessories you use (wipers, lights, radio, accessories, etc...) how often you can take advantage of regenerative-braking, hills/steep grades.....all of that, and more, make a difference as to how much power you actually use.

Just because the car is not ideal for road trips doesn't discredit it.

My Fortune 200 employer work parking lot has a crap load of Teslas.

If you use the car to commute and run errands like most folks, all good.

Just like any other vehicle. If I mash the gas on my car, I am going to get crap fuel economy too. Still using all those electronics and mashing the accelerator in a Tesla is going to take a 200+ mile range Tesla to 50 to 100 mile range.

Quoted top speed of 250mph + is intense. Seeing as he there isn’t any room to gallop in the Bay Area, I look forward to staring at these in traffic in the coming years hah

The range is all that impresses me. The blinding acceleration is a teenage-boy thing. Makes your heart go pitter-patter for a few seconds. After that, whatever.

But, again, I won't plug in every night, and I won't wait for even 30 minutes to get recharged when I'm on a road trip. Fix those major issues and we'll talk.

Tesla is building shops around their supercharger networks. If you’re someone that can drive 200-300+ miles without getting out and stretching your legs or to use the restroom or grab food. Then a electric car isn’t for you.

I am looking forward to seeing more Roadsters on the road.
It costs nothing to charge them in Quebec.

How? Does the state provide free charging stations?
