I do like Subarus and I feel that they are under appreciated and overlooked. But my mother has her heart set on a CRV or RAV4. But I will definatly recromend a Subaru Forester to her.

Great advice here!!!! Honda CR-V is a great choice, reliable, hard to go wrong with. Main thing is the amount of space you get in the package, its great in that regard. IMO the styling is kind of ugly and a bit boring, but then again I'm not buying this car for myself.
If it were my $$$$, I'd get the last gen hot-rod V6 Rav4, they were made from 2007 to 2011 I think. But that's just because I'm power mad and want a generic SUV that will cut a high 13 second quarter mile with a couple of mods.
