Yes. After three years. Didn't like it. It was my one and only lease I did. Not everything made by Toyota Motor Corp is worth buying.

Well the 1.8L I4 and hybrid powertrain was certainly derived from the Prius. But the handling was signifcantly better, partly due to the CT being designed and honed in Europe. The ride and suspension were choppy though. Shame it never got goodies like AVS to help with that. Granted there was a pricing target they had to meet, but still.

I've said before (you might remember it) that IMO it should have been sold under the Toyota badge, not Lexus. it simply lacked the refinement that a Lexus should have.

Lexus has had a bunch of models being discontinued due to lack of full development process but just rebadging existing Toyota or just lack of planning - SC, CT, HS, ISF, ISconvertible.
The fact that they have zero convertible offerings should disqualify them from being a luxury brand lol as that type of emotional purchase is what luxury is all about.

The way I see it, the CT and HS were dropped because they simply lacked the refinement a Lexus model should have. You can't just take a compact, add some nice upholstery and interior trim, make a few styling changes, and call it a luxury vehicle.

Good point....though simply having a drop-top with an premium nameplate doesn't necessarily make it a premium grade product. We saw that earlier, with the (somewhat poorly-built) and mediocre Chrysler Lebaron/Sebring convertibles and the newer Buick Cascada. The Cascada is very well-built (it is actually an almost 100% rebadged German Opel Cascada)...and exhibits almost no cowl shake, but hardly drives or rides like a Buick, especially with those big standard 20" wheels.

Anyhow.....back to Jill's 4Runner. Let us know how the repair is doing, Jill, and if there are any more problems.
