RX350 currently is the same length as the 3 row highlander. The RX350L is with 1/2 inch of the MDX. Looks to have about the same space in the 3rd row also as the MDX so should compete quite well (been in the MDX, 3rd row is good for storage but not much else). Most that I see with a 3rd row seem to hardly, if ever, use them. Those that do need them, have a van or Tahoe/Expedition type vehicle.

Despite outward appearances, Tahoes and even current Suburbans do not hold what they once did (from memory prev gen Navigator L's and Suburbans did 130+ cu. ft. A new Suburban is around 119, barely more than the former Chevy Traverse). Having ridden in a Pilot utilizing the 3rd row, imho that is temporary, maybe for children only. It seems that having a 3rd row is marketable, but does not serve too much utility-wise. It would be interesting to have 3 kids and a dog, on the way to grandmas for Thanksgiving, and a RX350, might not cut it....

I'm amazed it took them this long. Should've been done 10 years ago.

I wouldn’t assume people don’t use 3rd row seats often. Many don’t, but many others, like me, use them all of the time. The lack of a third row is the only reason we didn’t get another RX.

Yeah, those controls are for the third row only. Lexus not putting HVAC controls in the second row is something I’m not likely to ever understand.

This should have been released either when the current RX debuted or when the facelift debuts.
This would seemingly indicate that any facelifts will be restricted to front and rear bumpers/lights, where the tooling costs are much smaller. No big hard-point changes to be made for the RX/RX-L facelift

Said it all along. They should have just introduced a new model based on the TNGA. Now this thing will be 3yrs behind when the next RX debuts. Or maybe the next RX will be 3 row only and this is just a half model year?

Which is what facelifts are always restricted to.

The only other thing I noticed was the movement of the rear windshield wiper from under the spoiler to on the glass

Looks like they are bringing the Toyota Venza back as a Lexus!

Not sure where you get that from. The Venza never had three-row seats, at least in the American market.
