Have you driven one? Subaru's CVT is really excellent. To the point where I forget that our Outback has a CVT. I can only imagine adding a turbocharged engine to the mix would really make the experience that much better.

Sure. 2010 outback limited. Ordered new drove 120k miles in 6 years. Torque converter gave out at about 90k. Non cvts, I've owned and driven impreza outback sport and two forester xt's. Also visited and toured Subaru plant in Japan.
I've came to the conclusion CVT is not for me and is not for everyone. I can only say, I will never purchase another underpowered engine matched up with a CVT or CVT vehicle period. And for the reasons why, the slush box is horrible at: getting up to fwy speeds in a hurry, passing on interstate, accelerating in general, the drone in long drives are a killer, loaded it up with more than 2 people and some gear and some altitude...it's just horrible. Towing? hmm anything over 1500lbs and another person....forget it.

They are great vehicles for the price it just does a lot without doing any one of them well.
