Lexus released a teaser image of the LF-1 crossover, to be unveiled in Detroit.
DETROIT – Dec. 5, 2017 – Lexus will reveal a striking new concept that reflects the next genre in luxury crossover vehicles. Created by the CALTY design studio in Southern California, the Lexus LF-1 Limitless is a flagship crossover that redefines the boundaries of luxury.
The Lexus LF-1 Limitless will be revealed at the Lexus Press Conference taking place at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The above picture was brightened up by Lexusenthusiast.com.
Zoom up closer to the displays presumably embedded into the front seat headrests, and we get another surprise:
Squint and you can see what looks to be the overall profile of the LF-1 concept, complete with a massive hood and short front overhang. It appears that Lexus plans to release its first RWD crossover.
Nice surprise. Much of what's revealed there looks like a fancy NX. Lexus needs to keep momentum going. This is good timing.
New ES should be the next big thing.
I can give Lexus slack for killing the RWD GS sedan only if they replace it with a RWD SUV. That would be something to witness, seeing that the Infiniti QX50 crossover unveiled last week just switched from RWD to a FWD platform.

Lexus is not killing the GS. A 5th generation is being developed under the the 300B programme.
My $0.02.
Kind of like how the LS500 has had two concepts, I personally believe this is just a softer closer to production Lexus UX Concept.
The press release says its a new flagship crossover concept. Isn't the UX supposed to be the entry level crossover in the Lexus line up ? Either way i am interested to see if we see changes to the spindle grill design.

Thanks, I skipped over the word 'flagship'.
Closer to the LC500 and LS500 than current implementations of the spindle.

I hope so. Even the slightly tweaked spindle grill in the 2018 NX looks better than before, so am hopeful the front end design in the next gen models will have a broader acceptance than the current designs.
