That 760Li is somebody's toy that's for sure. It would be a ridiculous amount of capability for US roads. You can't use any of that ability anywhere legally, so wasted horsepower. But you're right, the 7 series is a rich man's warranty car. The E65 was lauded as one sweet car, but you don't see too many around. Most Bimmers are just lease/own 4 year toss-aways.
