Here is a link, up to $5000 with secret rebates. One dealer is offering $12,000 off. Ouch.

They have huge markdowns on them. You can get quite a deal. When I was looking at them, they were $52k for a loaded GT2 AWD, less a $6500 Kia lease-cash, and less about $5k off from the dealer. I could have gotten that brand new $52k Stinger for around $40k before tax/license. The Stinger forum has a lot of people who lease it to get the cash, then turn around and buy it out.

I am legitimately considering it. Need to go on another drive in one. A coworker let me drive his last week, and I came away impressed. You may have seen my recent thread on the Jaguar XF that I rented - in many ways, the Stinger felt like the XF. Similar ride quality, similarly sharp turn in, and a lot of black on the interior. But, I think the Stinger was more fun due to it having more power and IMO, a better-weighted and quicker steering rack. Also, my coworker had an aftermarket intake setup, and some sweet turbo sounds as a result, so it's probably not a fair comparison.

And Stinger owners will cry (because resale value will tank).

I might just contact local dealers about a Base 4 banger. They have ~$7k lease cash available in my area. That cash + healthy dealer discount might get the price down to low $20 (lease to buy option).. Hmm....

You're tripping if you think Kia was selling these without some money on the hood. Doesn't take away from the fact that it's an absolute great vehicle getting a ton of praise. Lots of people will never get over the fact that it's a $30-50k Kia. It is what it is. Besides, these rebates aren't even new. Since launch end of 2017, they have had variations of this rebate with 7-8k off (on the GT2 versions) and sales numbers have been fairly consistent ever since.

That's fair. Coworker did a little trickery using lease specials to get away with financing a much lower amount than if he had just financed from the start. Got something like 11k off MSRP on his capitalized cost, and then he turned around and got a loan to pay it off. Supposedly saved him some money, which is... insane.

I have never understood this. Some people won't, but who cares, I think the issue is when people start comparing the model to other brands that in the luxury territory. . I think KIA does the right thing by going this route, I don't know if it will be successful at the end of the day for this model, but the car is sold all over the world, so even if lower sales volumes are the for the US, that still does not really matter. I think it is ultra-cool that KIA has a K900 model still on sale in super low volumes. KIA should bring the Mojave to the US.

This car kind of sings its own song in its own segment or price point, the Buick Regal hatch is the one car I can think of that is in the unique category of buyer.
