I tried the peppermint oil as well as irish spring and the mouse came back so i took all the plastic in the glove box that blocks the cabin filter off put plastic down and put a mouse trap with a dab of peanut butter on it so hopefully i will be able to evict this mouse....he hasn't paid rent in two months lol jk

I'm not big on killing things, so I got a mouse hotel anytime we have pest problems usually in winter when they're looking for warmth, looks like this. Food goes on one end, mouse walks through, steps on a pad and it traps it. Easy to wash and reset. Ends with me saying "gotcha mf!", and then taking them and tossing er releasing them over the fence. Neighbors problem then

I never found any success with humane traps. The more they cause damage, the more willing you are to recognize your higher level in the food chain. Here is the height of my frustration with 11 traps under hood at night.

Entertaining thread.
Perhaps rather than peppermint oil you can just use lots of those little round peppermint candies. Either they will keep the mice away, or you will continue to have mice but they will have very fresh breath.
The dog food comment brought back memories. We had an outside refrigerator that stopped working one year. Discovered the entire mechanism in the bottom-rear was full of dog food, no doubt due to some industrious mice who wanted a well-stocked warm place for the winter.

No help to the original poster, but one time I raised the hood on an old car sitting in my father's yard and found an opossum in a nest between the air cleaner and firewall.

Stay away from cats! They create more damage than help. Cats shed hair all over, which gets in the nooks and crannies of the car and on you. They also spray, pee, and poo, leaving stains and strong odors everywhere. Big mess.
Only 26 and have only had 6 cars? Dear Lord, most people don't have six cars by the time they are 45!
