hi guys! question. the Stealership says i need a 944 dollar "canister vent valve". they list this part on Rockauto for 52, and actually Ebay has whole canisters for 80 (used). I know on some model camry the vent valve was part of the canister and could not be replaced. Im not sure what the case is here.

Second, i have a gas leak if i fill the tank (previously posted about this). im thinking, its throwing a code for the vent valve because there a leak, so it really cant tell if the valve is working or not? is that correct in any way?

Yeah, make, year model of car would be helpful. Also Lexus dealers want a fortune for parts on these cars, if its an older car and out of warranty, they are the last place I'd look for parts unless you can't find them anywhere else.
