Is the I-Pace platform made from aluminium space frame like the Tesla Model S and X?

The lower center of gravity gives natural roll resistance, as opposed to using firmer spring rates - to reduce weight transfer to the outside wheels to maximise grip.
However, the extra weight of the I-Pace would probably make the I-Pace much slower through the slalom, and pull less g on the skid pan - than say a Mercedes GLC.

True, the weight will increase tire wear.
However, the regenerative braking to convert mechanical energy back into electricity to recharge the battery pack - may actually reduce brake pad wear.

True.
Journalists must begin addressing the natural difference between traditional ICEV dimensions and EV dimension.
EV's are naturally shorter due to the lack of need for a big front engine.
However, EV's naturally have a long wheelbase and wide track to store the battery pack under the floor.
More, the i-Pace is only about 4" taller than the old 2011-17 Camry, and because the battery pack is about 4" high, the occupants in the I-Pace sit 4" higher than in a conventional ICEV sedan, but the actually vertical dimension inside the I-Pace from floor to ceiling is effectively the same as a conventional ICEV sedan like the old 2011-17 Camry!
In the Tesla Model S sedan of similar height to the outgoing Camry, because the battery pack is 4" high, the internal floor to cabin vertical dimension is very shallow with occupant's ankles kicked up high, and knees pointing up to the sky - compared to conventional ICEV sedans.

For this reason, the forthcoming Porsche Taycan had to go to all the trouble of having NO battery cells beneath the rear passenger footwell, so that the rear passengers legs could drop vertically into the rear foot well.

Like anything, EV's have their pros and cons.
I do like EV's, and I will buy an EV over traditional ICEV's once the early adopters iron out most of the bugs in electric vehicle.

Default Jaguar upgrades I-Pace with increased range for free

Using data from the I-Pace eTrophy racing series

Jaguar launched the I-Pace eTrophy racing series in 2018, and ever since, it's been collecting data on its battery electric crossover. Using that research, Jaguar has managed small refinements that incrementally improve how the car runs and drives. In past times, these types of upgrades were implemented during a refresh or redesign, but thanks to the computerized nature of modern vehicles, tuning information can be relayed to the vehicles immediately. Installed by dealers, Jaguar is releasing a free I-Pace software update that affects the battery, aerodynamics and all-wheel-drive system.

Jaguar already offers one of the best battery-operated vehicles on the road today, but the competition pool is quickly improving and becoming more crowded. In order to keep the I-Pace fresh, Jaguar decided to share its learnings from its eTrophy racing series and "more than 50 million miles" of real-world driving.

As it stands, the I-Pace packs a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery that is EPA-rated at 234 miles on a single charge. It has 394 maximum horsepower, 512 lb-ft of torque, and Jaguar claims it can do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. With the new update, Jaguar says the battery can "run to a lower state of charge than previously without affecting drivability, durability, or performance." This only affects range and efficiency, though, not power.

All I-Paces are all-wheel-drive, and the update directly affects the car's traction system. Jaguar has refined the torque distribution between the front and rear motors, which improves the car's efficiency in ECO mode. A third update deals with the car's aerodynamics. Jaguar has refined thermal management control by using the active radiator vane system more frequently. Finally, small tweaks also improved the regenerative braking system.

All said, these upgrades potentially equate to an 8% increase in range, which is about 12 miles, depending on usage. Jaguar did note, however, that the official EPA number would not change. Those who own I-Paces can take their cars to a local dealership, and a technician will update the software, which also includes advanced over-the-air functionality.

Not necessarily more brake wear. Regen allows for very minimal brake use so the pads last much longer than ICE cars. Weight also hasn't deterred the sale of heavy SUVs, Crossovers, and trucks.

Default 2021 Jaguar I-Pace updates include better infotainment, faster charging

Jaguar grabbed an armful of features from the JLR corporate store to improve the 2021 I-Pace, including bits from Land Rover and more technology from the brand's Formula E campaign. Restrained exterior mods start with Atlas Grey tips on the grille mesh, three new color choices in Caldera Red, Portofino Blue, and Eiger Grey, new wheel designs, and 19-inch wheels replacing the 18-inchers on the base-model S. An optional Bright Pack affixes a chrome grille surround, satin chrome window surrounds, and splashes of Atlas Grey on the mirror caps and rear diffuser. The optional Black Pack claims more real estate, painting the rear badges in gloss black.

A 3D surround camera system is standard for 2021. Even more ease for drivers comes with the ClearSight digital rear-view mirror that debuted on the latest Range Rover Evoque. A rear-facing, wide-angle camera mounted in the infotainment system's roof antenna can sends images to the inside mirror with the flick of a toggle.
The biggest convenience addition is the Pivi Pro infotainment system that arrived with the new Land Rover Defender, replacing the Touch Pro Duo unit. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster pairs with the carryover 10-inch upper and five-inch lower instrument panel screens. Intended to reproduce the smartphone experience on larger screens, a backup battery gets the navigation initialized quickly, and zooming needs no more than a finger pinch. The "flat" menu structure puts oft-used functions on the home screen, and cuts in half the steps required to input a destination compared to the Touch Pro Duo. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, as does 4G data enabling live traffic, in-unit Spotify and other listening apps, and swift over-the-air updates. Wireless phone charging with signal boost is optional. On top of Pivi's algorithms to learn the best routing and stay quiet during parts of a route that the I-Pace travels regularly (why don't more systems do this?), the 4G support means continuously updated info on EV chargers along the route.

Which brings us to hardware and software changes in the powertrain, courtesy of Formula E. Its 394 horsepower and 234 miles of range are unchanged, but the ease of getting that range does. Instead of the 7-kW, two-phase onboard charger, the 2021 I-Pace packs an 11-kW, three-phase charger. Plugged into an 11-kW wall box charger, range grows by 33 miles every hour, compared to 22 miles every hour with the 7-kW system. A full charge will take 8.6 hours instead of 12.75 hours. On public infrastructure, a 50-kW charger feeds 39 miles of range in 15 minutes, a 100-kW charger ups that to 78 miles in 15 minutes.

Three final fillips make themselves known in standard heated front seats, two extra speakers added to the Meridian 3D surround-sound system, and in-cabin filtration to the PM2.5 standard. Since we're living in times where such things matter, PM2.5 represents particulate matter 2.5 microns in size, such as combustion emissions or road dust; N95 masks filter 95 percent of particles just 0.3 microns large.

Latest sales figures I could find are for April 2020, 513 units that's less than half same time last year. I'd say the lack of range is a big factor.

Purely anecdotal - one of my customers drive one and has had a pretty bad ownership experience from it.
From the ongoing electronic gremlins (which are usually software fixes) to the poor dealer experience because of their lack of familiarity with electric cars, he said he won't buy another one.

COVID is cutting into sales by then though. All manufacturers were hurting by that point.
