Not sure what either of those things have to do with how well this Cadillac will sell. Personally, I'd look at how recent Caddy offerings fell short as a better indicator than Nissan Juke sales.
Very simple....it's not rocket science. If a SUV with the Juke's controversial looks (I call it the Nissan "Joke") can be successful in today's SUV-happy market, I see little or no reason why something far nicer and as elegant-looking as the XT4 can't as well. Of course, time will tell, but I wouldn't bet on the XT4 falling flat on its face.
Yes, according to Wiki, it is a FWD platform..as almost all smaller SUVs are nowadays. Also, though the orientation of the big engine cover disguises it some, it appears to be a transverse layout from the underhood shot.

That looks more longitudinal with a north/south facing engine. If it is transverse why would they make the engine cover face north/south?

Predicting consumer behavior may actually be as complex as rocket science.

Don't kid yourself.....it happens more often than you'd think. I've come across it several times in my reviews. It's just a styling trick...because of the notion (which, personally, I don't happen to agree with) that, in this class, RWD trump FWD.

I don’t get the Juke comparison. Really makes no sense. But RX would never sale for the higher price Toyota and Lexus charge compared to the GM or Ford stuff if it was toned down. There was a time when Toyota and Lexus models were considered boring and not interesting.
This new XT4 looks nice. Not a bad looking model. Hopefully the XT4 is not made in China. Does anyone know if they mentioned where it is going to be made?

The Cadillac XT4 is reportedly going to be built at General Motors’ Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas. Sources told Bloomberg that Cadillac has begun manufacturing prototypes from the Fairfax facility but the company hasn’t announced plans for production.
