Window film removal?
I am at my wits end trying to remove window film sticky.
I started with what I thought was easy, pull it off and it was easy. But it left behind a sticky layer. I have tried Goo-Gone, Ammonia, Windex, Tile Cleaner, and WD-40. Nothing works.
I should have paid the film installer the $20 extra a window that he wanted to remove the old film. I thought I was saving money but this it turning out to be a major job. Its just the two front windows, The dealer did a bad job and its getting all crinkled up.
Anyone have a suggestion? Maybe break the windows and let the insurance co replace them....LOL

Xylene. Keep it away from defroster wires.

Use a heat gun and very carefully go back and fourth horizontally and then use a razor blade to scrape the adhesive off your window.

Single edged razor in a holder works almost as fast as you could wipe water off with a towl. Less than 5 minutes to clean the entire window. The blades WITH handles come 4 to a package (four handles also) for $1 at the dollar store.

Steam is the key IMO, worked great on my old junky truck with crapped out tint. I've tried razor blades, acetone, gasoline, solvents, nothing worked as good as steam with the razor blade once you got that goop working like a well oiled *****(hot, wet and steamy) lol. I borrowed a clothes steamer from work(worked retail at the time), job took like 20 minutes for two front windows. I'd imagine you could use an iron, but it would take quite a while longer because it doesn't put out steam constantly like the clothes steamer.
