Shopping for a SUV with third row seating
#16
Having had four, I will pitch the MDX. When I was looking for a new vehicle last summer I wanted something other than the MDX just for a change. I shopped the vehicles you mentioned (other than the Durango, plus the QX60 and the RX) but came back to the 17 MDX Advance. IMO the best value of the group, good gas mileage, more cargo capacity with third row down, etc. The biggest negative to me is the 9 speed transmission shifting at low speed. Re the third row, I hardly use it, but the second row seats move forward/back (I have captains chairs in my Advance) so if a smaller person is in the second row, more leg room in the third row is generated. Re reliability I have never had a significant issue with any of the four I have owned (2001, 2005, 2011, 2017).

We have considered the MDX in the past and recently. While it is easily one of the best all around SUVs, fairly decent looking and is at a very good price point, they just don’t move me or my wife at all. There is just something missing when I test drive them.

Did you look at a buick enclave? Besides the lack of rain sensing wipers which i thought was a dumb decision, and the interior materials not being great, the overall design and features are really nice and it's got loads of room.
