Regardless if they ignore the leasing segment, at least Edmunds explains their methodology. You can make your own inferences and look at some of the drawbacks about the study, but you cannot do that for JD Power or CR which explains nothing. The Edmunds study asked 13 million car owners, they exclude leases.

This study includes data from 2007 to 2017 and our analysis of more than 13.9 million transactions in the U.S. Lease returns were excluded from this study"
