And here I had my hopes up. I do appreciate the Lexus dealer experience - really helps justify the purchase to my wife. Genesis needs to get on that.

That's because, at this point, the vast majority of Genesis "dealers" are just a sectioned-off area within a Hyundai dealer.

looking at this canadian review of the g70 gave some insights on genesis' plans...

first, you can order the car from genesis' whole national pool and get the car as you want in about 10 days.

second, straightforward pricing, no dealer shenanegans

third, i didn't know the g70 is about 6" shorter than the stinger. but i think this makes sense so it's more a 3 series / IS / c class competitor, leaving their g80 to be a plus size midsize car, and the g90 the full size.

fourth, it's already out in canada.

while they still need suvs, i see a lot of cohesiveness to their strategy and great product line.

Their plans and what they can do in Canada are most likely vastly different than the plans and distribution of what they can do in America. In Canada the main distributor (Hyundai/Genesis Canada) I believe owns all (or at the least a strong majority) of the retail channels (dealers/showrooms/etc.). In America, Genesis USA is still beholden to an independent dealer network.

this style of review is horrible and unwatchable. no POV camera angles, no demonstrations of what the vehicle drives like, sounds like or is capable of, no side-by-side comparisons against competitor vehicles. just a video of two guys who know nothing about cars yapping away the entire time. why even film it inside of the car? i guess to remind the viewer it is supposed to be a review about a car, otherwise they might think they have stumbled across an episode of The View. /endrant

It will be interesting to see how they attempt to market the G70 here in the states. I've tried to find G80/G90 vehicles in my area and the Hyundai/Genesis dealerships in my area do not have very friendly websites. They have the Genesis models on their lots but for some reason can't seem to get them loaded to their websites. Even when doing the 'chat' on their websites they don't really know what I am asking regarding a G80. If this happens for the G70 they will have a very difficult time moving this vehicle, as I think a lot of people interested in purchasing a G70 will do their initial searches online.

The Genesis dealers here and in Phoenix have their inventory listed. I accessed them thru the Genesis website, not thru Hyundai.

When is the actual release of this car? I remember such excitement for it , but I haven't seen much reviews or anything about a release date?

Absolutely love that they made it available in stick shift. There are so few (are there any??) new 4 door sedans that offer this anymore, but it's something that really appeals to me. Kudos to them for offering it.
