Default New guy here 06 gs430

Hi everyone I thought I should introduce myself. I recently bought my wife a 06 gs430 with just over 100k miles. What a car we are really in love with it! I've been referencing this forum so I figured I ought to sign up.
I have just recently started working on cars as the purchase of my new house has for the first time in my life afforded me a suitable spot to do so. Today I put new slotted / drilled rotors and ceramic pads on and did a full synthetic amsoil oil change.

Welcome to CL's Car Chat, and Happy Easter.

Congratulations on the recent purchase. Is your wife's 06 GS the only car in the family, or do you also have something else?

sweet, congrats! I have a 06 LS and I too like the synthetic with WIX XP filters. I get whatever 5 qt synth has a $10 or $12 rebate (Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum). the 3UZ-FE seems to be set it and forget it, really nothing much to it except making sure the coolant doesn't evaporate too much every year out of the reservoir...

I've kicked this around for the LS, and although I don't need them yet, seem to have decided on Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (I let others do the buying first and the reviews so I don't have to reinvent the wheel lol), and I run snows as well but don't feel the need for full blown summers

Sweet, my favorite GS generation of all time, especially with the V8! Congrats and welcome to the forum. And as mmarshall mentioned, you're in the Car Chat sub-forum, which is mainly about general car discussions across the industry. You're free to stick around here, but feel free to check out and post in the 3GS forum here for 3GS-specific topics and discussions with fellow owners.

Swapped the Pilot Sport 4S (summers) on my Stinger for the A/S 3+ and really nice set of tires - good light snow/wet traction and great dry drip in cooler temps (still TBD in hot summer temps).
