We all hear how huge Chinese market is when it comes to these subsidized EV, PHEV and Hybrid vehicles. I follow auto industry closely and I was under impression how Toyota is terribly late, how everyone else has huge amount of great selling EV's and Phevs and Hybrids in China.

Few days ago Toyota introduced Corolla PHEV in China, with Prius Prime internals and I thought : How late Toyota! While everyone else is doing EVs, you are doing 30 miles range PHEV!

After all that, I was quite surprised to see Retail sales report March 2018 from China new energy vehicles.

Toyota has 6 models in Top 20.... 3 of them being Lexus hybrids, which are imported and have 25% import tax.
Is it really all sham? Where are all these "introduced" EVs from past 2 years?
