Wouldn’t it be cool if the GR Super Soorts Conceot spawned a new LFA too. I’m salivating just thinking of that.

I don't know what the types of cars will come along with this thing, but if it's anything close to what was shown, it'll be north of the LFA. This thing is hypercar territory considering it's basically a rebodied TS050 lmp1. I'm thinking it'll be at least twice the price of the LFA. With the fact that it's using the lmp1 powertrain that's now a Le Mans winner, they'll get their asking price.

oh no doubt. The GR SS is a hypercar whereas the LFA is a supercar. I should have been more clear. I’m hoping if there ever is a successor to the LFA that it would be mid-engine, and also hybrid since Lexus is a leader in that technology. The 3.5L TTV6 in the LS500 is derived from their work in LMP1.

Remeber that the GR SS Concept will have a main competitor already in the Mercedes-Benz Project One which is a road version of their Petronas F1 car. 1.6L 1000hp hypercar.

Here's another link confirming production from Toyota's site https://newsroom.toyota.co.jp/en/toyota/23009821.html
Please do make a post about the GR Super Sport. I was also going to post about the Le Mans win, as I have watched most of the race but had the same thought as you. I agree most of the people, so called enthusiast only looks at the the spec sheet and make assumptions base of that and spread the opinion of some pseudo Journalists thought about a product. I personally believe Toyota and Lexus has made a complete turn around in the last decade and has started catering to a true enthusiast.

Porsche and Audi do it all the time when citing their numerous Le Mans wins, most of which were against privateer teams (no manufacturers) and half the time (like with Audi) it was against their own customer R8 lmp1's. It's a 24hr race, you beat the clock and the event itself, not just the competition. Finishing is an achievement in itself.

Porsche and Audi have to deal with Dieselgate, can't afford to field WEC teams . So now efforts are turning to Formula E, a little bit more eco friendly, but they've lost competing in one of the most storied races in the world. Shame.
