My AMEX rewards points are worth way more than 1 cent per point.

When I was a young buck out of B school, I wanted to get a Hartman portfolio and briefcase. Amazing how stuff we used to want, we no longer do. Also wanted an Omega Seamaster and too bad I did not get it in 2008, the value has gone up.
My wife has tons of Delta miles and good thing they never expire as we don't fly much as a family--we just forfeited all our SW miles. I have hundreds of thousands of United but they do expire, so I have to be careful and order some magazines or make sure I fly or stay at a Marriott. Dang sometimes life makes me think of a Harry Chapin song.
One last thing about programs and rewards--I believe the issuers stipulate they can be modified/canceled at any time, so make sure you don't get bilked. There usually is a grace period, but say you don't read the email or letter in the mail, and you lose all your points.

My wife and I have used Delta to Europe a few times since I retired but when I worked I made over 120 trips to London and probably 30 to Southeast Asia and about that to South America.

Got the Lexus debit visa card for the RX-L test drive yesterday. I wonder how many CC#'s they're burning through now, because they're basically one time use in so many cases. I'll throw these things up on the Verizon account as payment, so I am applying to something I was going to have to pay for anyway....
p.s. that's exactly a month I think from test drive to mailbox, not bad. I'm waiting for a new license plate and it's been 16 weeks, can you imagine how incompetent DMV is? 3 weeks ago I was told it's still being processed. Last monday I was told please be patient, thank you.
