Its not bad, saw it at the auto show. But the mid size segment is ultra competitive so it has lots of competition. I dount Toyota or Honda owners will switch brands. We shall see

Saw 3 of them this weekend, all looked nice but because they were new and clean, I couldn't help but notice the brakes. It's what I do. Jumped online to see what it was about, and again, no torque by today's standards. I think Ford really nailed it there with ecoboost. To charge over sticker when online I saw top trim started at 41k? You know what they say about a fool and his money lol I think Ford reclaims this segment with the new Explorer.

I think 41K for a car like that with a warranty like that is a great bargain. None of the competitors even come close. Over sticker always ends bad though. When the Hyundai Palisade comes out soon the supply will pick up. These cars are really nice for the price.

I've started to see them around and I do like them.
I checked and none of the local Kia dealers are marking them up here. They are going for list right now.

Agreed. I would definitely consider one when shopping in the segment, but it doesn't scream "This is so incredible nothing else in the segment compares" like some people say to me at all.

I would pay $60k for an Explorer Platinum.
For people that want what that $50k competitor vehicle is, there's an Explorer that competes against those cars at a value. The Platinum trim is just much nicer than what the competitors offer.

^^^ Agreed.
many on here are still thinking of prices from some mythical ‘good old days’ or comparing with used car prices. i expect cars are cheaper today certainly when you consider the astounding feature set, quality, performance, efficiency, etc.

Totally disagree. $64k for a fully loaded Explorer Platinum is not ludicrous. Competing vehicles that top at $50k are not comparable to a Platinum Explorer. The closest allegory would be a Grand Cherokee Summit with the extended leather package. Guess what that costs? $64k.
