I will take an ILX over an Audi A3 all day, fact is I would never buy any Audi's, I will never support a cheating car manufacturer but that's me...

if audi had the reliability of, say, acura, then i would choose audi all day. i have no qualms with their emissions cheating scandal.

so i wound up purchasing a 2016 acura ilx with the technology and a-spec packages. it has 22k miles on it and i paid 20,600$ out the door -- including taxes, license, registration, etc. overall it's a nice, little car with a peppy 201hp i4 mated to an 8-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter. here are a few pictures that i just snapped. pardon the messy garage.

Congratulations. I see you sprang for that white one that was advertised. Good price for a CPO with that mileage on it. Does your Mom have any problem with the ride on those rubber-band 40-series tires and A-Spec suspension, though?....they are generally not designed for comfort. Also, I'd suggest you make sure she understands that those tires and wheels are vulnerable to potholes and curb-impacts....to take care in parking and try to keep it on smooth roads. At least where you are in Southern California, the climate means almost never having freeze/thaw cycles or the need for road salt, which is one of the chief reasons for potholes.

pardon the messy garage.
No problem, friend. I wouldn't mind having that messy garage myself.

thank you! my mom test drove the car and liked it. she's a bit of an enthusiast herself, so it suits her well. and yes, i think i got a really good deal for the year, mileage, and how the car was optioned. overall i'm happy with the decision and purchase!

Congrats davy! Looks like a great deal with TTL. I'm a big fan of the 2.4L coupled with the DCT and traditional torque converter. Quick and smooth shifts. Enjoy!

Congrats on the new car! Based on your garage pic, I'm a little surprised that the ILX is a tad bigger than the IS.

congrats to you and your mom. can you say what it was originally listed for vs. what you paid? how did the 'negotiating' go? sounds like a heck of a good deal.
