That supercharger whine, yes. I was about to do C63 mufflers before I sold it for some more growl. Oh well. Looking for the next project.

Look at the two cars stock performance numbers

RCF HP467 tq 389 LBS 4,O40 12.8@110.7
C450 HP364 tq 384 LBS 3,834 12.9@107.7

Adding any aftermarket catback exhaust will not increase horsepower significantly on the RCF do to its redesign exhaust system from that of the old IS-F. Where is the c450 with a jb4 tune gets a real 100 horsepower bump as well as increasing torque, whereas the RCF literally gets a 5 hp increase Maybe if they're lucky depending on the exhaust 10 hp bump. Like BMW Mercedes-Benz tends to underrate the motor. Buy some reputable companies have gauge numbers closer to the 375 crank hp mark.

RCF stock whp 380 to 400 add catback exhaust know more than then 410hp and thats with best numbers closer to 400 to 405 mark.
Where as C450 with JBL Tune E30 and exhaust 100 whp more and additional tq plus190lbs lighters. Thats puts C450 closer to 420 whp and lighter more hp than that RCF with just Catback. RCF would need headers to equal out hp, but C450 is lighter.

yea after learning myself some stuff about the tune i was reminded of how the cars tend to be underrated on the official specs, and how much a tune can add to a turbocharged car lol

You can't sleep on Tuned C450. That's why I've kept my 2011 FBO Tuned n Tuned intake E30 blend ISF that I've owned 71/2 yrs DD 91K Mile vs trading in for RCF.

they just call the C450 the C43 AMG now. i still call it the C450 because i'm a bit of a d**k, and to me there will always be ONE version of each model that's the AMG (C63 in this case) and has an engine hand assembled by a single technician. this new slap AMG on things now i think is tarnishing and watering down the AMG legacy, and turning it into a big marketing scheme.

the C43 doesn't have an engine hand assembled by a single technician, and 20/27 mpg is too good for an AMG to get lol. doesn't mean it's not an awesome car, but i'm not ready to acknowledge it as "an AMG", even if that is silly and petty of me haha. i'll still sleep just fine but i preferred how they did things in the last decade.

i think the whole 'hand assembled' thing is a joke because a) they're just assembling it (put pieces together and torque down bolts to specs is most of it?), and b) the important work is high precision cnc cutting, lathing, forging, casting, etc. done by computers and computer controlled machines.

oh yea i know lol it's really more of a gimmick but it's a cool tradition that makes me smile just a little bit more whenever i open the hood and i see that signature plaque. and it's hard not to already be at maximum grin when looking at this engine lol. also you get cool videos like this when a person puts it together:

also, i get to say that the exact engine in my particular car was assembled by robert feiler, who was just another amg employee, until i saw this:

that's robert feiler!! but yea i really don't think that in today's world there's anything "better" about it being done this way, but i still think it's a cool thing to go "one man, one engine" and all that

so, is there no risk or long-term penalty to running E30 in a factory engine?

Yeah, I guess having a guy inspect and look for potential flaws in the machining which would other wise never be picked up with machine assembly and then making sure each part is working the way it should is stupid. They are not just assembling the engines.

I mean it must just a gimmick as the LFA engines were also all hand built, although, I wonder why one of the most reliable car makers in the world decided not to completely trust their machines to the job? I wonder if the reason is to make absolutely sure every part going into the car was to the standard of what they were demanding. Well I will never know, b/c the internet says its a gimmick.
