I tend to think, if we had a new and more traditional LS, we would be here blaming the low sales on the fact that they weren't daring enough and didn't do anything new or different to make it stand out.
good post, and you may well be right.

Either way though, the LS, as the flagship sedan, must be innovative. Lots of curves and cut glass are flashy, but not really innovative. It can be innovative in driving, or amenities, or design besides just bling.

So you drive a G90, a flagship. What is innovative about the Genesis G90?

The G90 is innovative in that it pushes the envelope on price and value.

Its not lame at all. They’re providing a $100,000 car for $68,000. Everything about the G90 has to be viewed through that lens. The value is really astonishing.

ok here's a few.. and obviously some are my opinion or i've not experienced enough other vehicles to compare

google button on rear view mirror... press it, ask for anything you're looking for... search results come on screen, including phone numbers, etc., so you can navigate to them or call, etc., it's awesome.

i really like the 'rocker' switches for heating/cooling seats. Push top half 1-3 times to get heating level or bottom half 1-3 times to get cooling level.

power rear seat windows shades (i don't believe ls500 has these, rear only).

alexa skill to start/stop/adjust car

they include a black genesis engraved amazon echo dot with the car.

Every light in (and outside) the vehicle is LED and every interior light fades in and out when turned on or off (or door opened, etc.)

The concierge service so i never have to go to the dealer.

best carpeting i've ever seen in a car.

map view when zoomed out overlays weather fronts / radar / clouds

best audio system i've ever experienced.

My GS has the Alexa Skill Integration but I’ve never tried it. Is it useful?

Another review... have to say the car looks fantastic in this very dark blue. Definitely growing on me.

I am happy this new refresh is growing on you. It looks so much better in person than the photos. That is the case for a lot of cars. Wheels are also unique which is a great thing. And the minor changes to the entire are smart. Hopefully they do not kill off the V8

The G90 looks just fine out on the street vs. still photos. In the KBB video the grill looks prominent but it doesn't overwhelm. I was on the fence with the wheels but they are growing on me. I'd like to see the car with optional wheels for comparison.

I am excited to check out the 2020 G90 when it lands, love the wheels and the old-school feel. The 19 K900 was impeccably quiet and eager to see if the flagship G90 can top that.

By the way, you can build & price a 2020 G90 off the Korean Genesis website here just to play around. Koreans can order this in a stretched limousine version; no additional option for wheels though...

How is a car that is offering the same basic luxury/driving experience as a car that costs 30K more considered lame? Have you sat in and driven a G90, it has just about every luxury feature a car could have. That is innovative.

You could say there is nothing much innovative about the new Corvette either but in reality it is offering a engine layout/performance that is unheard of at its price, many consider that very innovative. I really don't even care about innovative when shopping for cars and what I like, I car about the whole package and what I get for my money. A Tesla 3 may be "innovative" but it is also ugly as sin, it has a plain barren cheap interior, is range limited, poorly built, unreliable, and I have zero desire to ever own one. I don't care if it is "innovative".
