The TT V-6 actually drives better than the V-8. It is not a fast under full throttle from a stop, but in daily driving the low end torque is better with the turbo. They are about to introduce a TT 3.5 v-6 that is even higher in horsepower and torque.

the 3.3 ttv6 in my G90 is PLENTY fast. and the 'sport' mode genuinely makes the car a LOT more responsive. I don't use it that often, but when i do the difference is obvious, especially from a stop.

Doesn’t have the same loafing feel if the V8 though.

by 'loafing feel', do you mean the generally lower rpm operation?

i'm sure i'd prefer the v8 in terms of smoothness and sound, but there's no lag or anything with the ttv6, and it's surprisingly quick. One interesting thing i've noticed about my car is after i shut it off in my garage and open the door, i can hear the soft sound of what i believe are the turbos or fans or whatever slowly spinning down. not annoying or anything, kinda cool like a jet engine only not as loud, lol.

A V8 just never seems taxed, it has an effortlessness about it TTV6s don’t have

It effortlessly drinks gas too. But i don't disagree, v8's are WONDERFUL!

You will probably not hear the turbos spinning down if you don't shut the engine off immediately after a hard run...the turbos probably won't be spinning in the first place.

That is one of the great advances of modern turbos. Up to not very long ago, turbos had be shut down slowly and carefully, to keep their enormous heat from cooking the engine oil and choking up the oil-lines with carbon-particles. Advances in oil, particularly synthetic oil that could withstand extreme temperatures, also played a big role.

Anyone who likes cars should appreciate a V8 over a V6. Although the 5.0 V8 by Hyundai is short about 50hp compared to same size engine from Toyota, it still should be celebrated that Hyundai has a V8 in their Genesis line. Sad KIA took it away from their K900

I'd want the V8 in a flagship for the consistent smoothness and sound, I would not mind if the V8 was only available engine but I would not mind the 3.3t V6 either since it makes decent power and also has good acceleration. My main worry is long term reliability with a Hyundai turbo V6, their V8's are pretty trouble free even with some years and miles on them but the V6t has not been out long enough to really know. I wonder if anyone has tried modding the Hyundai turbo 6 for some nice power, like around 450hp.

Those are F engines going into performance cars, not really the same thing as the base 8 cylinder going into their G90 sedan. The base V8 in the LS460 made 380hp, less with AWD.

I wouldn't be too worried about the reliability of the TTV6. It's been out for about 5 years now and I am not seeing any big issues on their forums. I think it's a great engine, but it is fantastic that they offer the choice to go with a V8, should you want one.

In real world driving, I don’t think you really will see that big a difference. What sort of mileage do you get?

And that TTV6 is a great engine don’t get me wrong. I think it feels much better than the TTV6 in the LS00

Thats pretty good. I get 18 or so in town, and on a highway trip I get 26-27. That’s running 80.
