that's really quite the sweeping assessment. BMW has certainly brought numerous dud designs to market. Volvo, Ford, GM, Fiat (lol), plenty plenty of duds.
Yes, a sweeping statement is what I intended to make. I'm commenting on the big picture; generalizing about the design sensibilities of different cultures. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as demonstrated by the follow-up comments of different poster's likes and dislikes. All manufacturers have had their hits and misses, but generally, styling is not the Asian's strong suite.
That said, my styling preferences will not preclude me from buying Asian vehicles. I currently have five. Their quality and reliability make up for their less-than-great aesthetics!

Do you realize that this statement makes no sense? How can beauty be in the eye of the beholder yet you can make a declarative statement like "styling is not the Asian's strong suit"? The two statements are contradictory.
The correct statement is YOU don't prefer the way Asian companies style vehicles. Lots of people do.
You need to practice saying "in my opinion" and/or "to me". When you make a statement like this:
but generally, styling is not the Asian's strong suite
That is a declarative judgement, not a statement of opinion. "In general, most trees are green" is not a statement of opinion.
You can't say, "lots of people," you can only say what you think.
Your statement implied that you were speaking in general, not of your own opinion. When you make a statement like that what you are saying is people that do like the way asian cars are styled are wrong.
