Quiet news from Lexus for 2019 models

As long as they use matte screens. The iDrive touchscreen on my 530e attracts fingerprints like no other. Causes me to use the clickwheel instead.
Also, this must mean the interior of the RX must be in for a drastic change, because the screen placement as it currently is, would be impossible to use as a touchscreen.

Android and Apple are fighting to get their software into your car so that you can buy their phones. That's all it is.
I haven't done much testing with the softwares on newer cars but I just use the cd player and I do not talk or text when im driving. So that prevents me from getting caught in the crossfires of Apple and Google.

Maybe, Maybe not. Lexus with the 2015 ES added the updated Gen8 system over the 2014 ES with Gen7, then for 2016 ES added Gen9. So CarPlay could come sooner if Lexus wanted to during the mid-cycle refresh. But yes for a new infotainment / touchscreen we'll have to wait for the 5RX.
