From what I can tell, he has nothing to apologize for in life. He is an African-American originally from Kentucky (a state where job-opportunities are not necessarily the best), had a successful career as a highly-trained cop, retired, and, although in a business not noted for honesty, seems to be honest by auto-sales standards. Colleagues whom I have referred to him (one of them, who leased a Buick Encore, is our church's Sunday-School Director) have also had a high opinion of him. The fact that he drives a Cruze, instead of an Escalade or CT6 like many other GM sales reps would aspire to, shows me that he is not a materialist.

Like many people from Kentucky and West Virginia, he had bad teeth for years...only just recently did the poor guy get some much-needed dental work that gave him a nice smile back.

I think it is time to close this thread. I can’t believe how rude and personal it has gotten. From making parents proud because they have a Cruze to bad teeth from people in the south. This really is uncalled for. The whole point of this thread to document this GM closure for historical reference. And people have RUINED it!!!!

In the latter part of the thread, we were discussing how the GM closure affected the local GM dealerships here. The salesperson comments came up in response to those who questioned the honesty and integrity of my salesperson....and, I might add, you also questioned it.

Anyhow, there is another thread in Car Chat I just started that deals with some of the GM closing-issues...but a lot more as well. It deals with a threatened strike and negotiations by the UAW.

What's the need to repeat his stereotype here, then?
