Default Los Angeles, Detroit, Washington, D.C. Auto Shows (Toronto and New York added)

The Los Angeles show starts at the end of this week, on November 30, at the L.A. Convention Center. It will run till December 9.

The Detroit Show will run from January 14 till January 27, though the first couple of days may be for he press.

The Washington, D.C. show, though, has a major change next year, from January/February to April. It will run from April 5 to April 14, though, like with Detroit, the first day may (?) be a press-preview.

Free tickets for the D.C. show can usually be picked up at any local D.C.-area new-car dealership, though they usually have only a limited number to give out, and usually don't come in until a couple of days before the show opens. If you're lucky (as I was a couple of years ago), they will have VIP tickets, where each one will admit four persons, so you can take your family or friends.

In general, I don't like the idea of the switch to April (in some years, it could conflict with Easter activities)...but I'll admit it will make test-driving the vehicles out in the cold a little nicer, in warmer weather (the D.C. show has short test-drive circuits from some manufacturers). Late January is usually the coldest time of the year for D.C., and, though not as bad as Detroit's Arctic conditions, it can be like an icebox out there on that test-drive circuit.

Nice idea for s thread Marshall.
Why don’t you add the Toronto show in February? It is a pretty big one that has a number or world debuts.

OK, I'll post the Toronto/Canadian International link...February 15-24, 2019, though I figured you and corradoMR2 would know more about that show than I would.

Also, since you have a dual-residence in NY state, here's the New York Show: I can't find many links on it yet, but it apparently will run April 19-April 28, right after the D.C. Auto Show.

Just an aside comment...it will be interesting to see how much floor-traffic the new RAV-4 gets at the L.A. show next week. I think there will be mobs waiting to see it......and Toyota has just barely taken the press-embargo off of it. I won't be there, of course, but will follow some of the videos and show-news...and I'm sure a number of Car Chat members will be there.

Well, I'll add on to this thread. Anyone planning to attend the Philly Auto Show (FEBRUARY 2-10, 2019), today only, 11/26, as per custom the past few years, they are running a Cyber Monday special -- 1/2 price on adult tickets (no discount for Senior or Kids tix). I go every year, so I always get my tix now.

New MKV Supra is getting revealed at Detroit with final specs pricing etc....wish I could have gone out for that but will be on work travel elsewhere. If MKV Supra makes it to the DC show in April I will check it out for sure.
