I think this car is way better looking than the Lambo, and Lexus has proven it can deliver concept car looks to production. And it sounds like getting the power figure shouldn't be a problem, so it'll just be a matter of delivering the driving experience. Personally, I'd love to see Lexus challenge Lamborghini...

This would be cool if they made something to compete with the Lamborghini but Toyota is so slow when it comes to releasing vehicles. It took forever for the LC to go into production and the Supra is finally being unveiled next month.
The fact that Lamborghini has to make a ugly duckling like the Urus to survive as a car company is outrageous to start with. To actually have Lexus then decide to possibly imitate this trend with an even uglier gigantic version of the already odd looking RX is quite rich.

Lexus would be naive to try and make a vehicle that competes with the likes of the Urus and Bentley Bentayga.
‘’The reason people are kicking Lamborghini dealer doors down for the Uris is because the name plate hold so much prestige. When you pull up the country club in a Lamborghini Urus you just made all the G63 owners feel poor.
Lexus is barely competitive in half the segments it competes in today, going after the 5% of the world that can afford a Urus is completely laughable. They will be hard pressed find people willing to spend north of $180k on a 4 seater crossover.
Lamborghini consumers aren’t looking for a bargain they want to spend as much as the option list will allow them to spend. Average Urus leaving the lot right now has no less than $60k in added equipment.

Let's assume this rumored vehicle to be true:
Naive? No. Brave? Yes. Will they fail? Maybe. But you can't succeed without failing along the way and you certainly can't succeed if you don't even try. It takes outrageous halo cars like these to build brand awareness and prestige. Look at what the LC alone has done for the brand image. They've got to start somewhere.
