I fully expect the U.S. price to be well under $57K. Genesis is able to command much higher pricing in its home Korean market.
For example, the G80 with the 3.8 V6 starts at (direct KRW to USD conversion) of over $46,000 vs, the U.S. at $42,550.

Interesting. Never knew the home market had more expensive prices. I guess they could play around with the standard option features to keep the price lower.

I'm really loving the GV80. At first glance, it was meh but after looking at the exterior and interior photos from different perspectives, it's a beautiful looking SUV. It definitely has way more tech than any of the Lexus offerings. Genesis has a homerun here.

I will leave it at that. Lexus use to be predominantly RWD/AWD but it seems like they are moving over to FWD/AWD.

Genesis doesn't do front-wheel drive. Not yet. "A front-wheel-drive platform wouldn't be authentic to the brand," said Albert Biermann

Here's a quote from C&D from their writeup of the GV80. "One more bet: We'd wager that the GV80 will outsell Genesis’ entire sedan lineup in less than a year." A pretty safe bet IMO.

I may be remembering incorrectly, but when Buick launched the Encore, it zoomed to be their #1 seller representing 40% of the brand's sales. I'd expect something similar for Genesis.

Very interesting to see how Genesis will market and price it. They also need to build out their dealer network to achieve any meaningful volume.
Hopefully the leasing programs will be aggressive to get momentum.

Certain conventions shouldn't be broken unless there's a really good reason...I don't see any good reason here other than trying to be different.

I have five Genesis "retailers" in my area with an inventory ranging from 18-31 vehicles - these are all in the greater Boston area. I do not believe any of them are actual standalone Genesis dealerships yet but I could be wrong. To get me out of a Lexus and into a Genesis it would have to be a similar dealership experience. At least in this area, it's a drastically difference experience buying and servicing a vehicle at my local Lexus dealership compared to my local Honda dealership or (gag) my local Toyota dealership which literally feels like I'm walking into a prison.

What difference does it make? Genesis will come to you and take your Genesis and take it the service department for you..no need to ever visit the dealer (which is probably just a Hyundai garage at the present time)
