Default an old LExus owner back to share a suggestion to try Tesla

IS owners (and probably most Lexus owners) would be a lot happier in a Model 3 says Consumer Reports

Background: I owned Toyota and Lexus products for years. Traded in for a Model S years ago and loved it. Also added a Model 3 recently. They are the best. Just came back to my old account to share one person's experience and the data from Consumer Reports. Lexus makes awesome cars -- If Tesla didn't exist that's probably what I would have. But Tesla is so much better. Give it a try.

lol I won't let them live it down when they said nothing sporty about a GTI (that may be one of the few that remain that can be had at ~30k). Until they show the science behind how they arrive at their conclusions, I consider them statistically invalid and unreliable...imagine making a purchase decision based on that grid.

Prius = 86?

It's been a while and may have changed, but CR rated the GTI at the top of the segment. One of their editors mentioned he wasn't wow'd by it, but that will happen when people discuss cars.

Fine print seems to indicate fuel economy and performance are the considered factors which make sense on the cars listed top to bottom.

If this was a reliability or initial/quality/Build survey...

Agreed. If the moron leadership at Ford and GM actually follow through on their plans to drop their big sedans, the Avalon, Cadenza, and G80 will all be serious contenders for my checkbook.

It's a shame Fisker Automotive didn't work out. They would have been a good competitor to Tesla.

I have a decent amount of passenger experience and some driving experience with the model s 90d, and I agree it's super awesome but as long as you don't have to spend too much time on the highway

from like 20-60 it doesn't get much better than that 90d, but even before 70 you can already feel it starting to slow down, plus it's not that comfortable

id love to have one but only as like my 6th car that would be used exclusively for shorter trips, although maybe driving the p100d will change my opinion lol

it's well liked by buyers who probably bought it as their 'last' car.

Tesla is not “better” than Lexus. It’s totally different. I appreciate the technology, but the cars aren’t luxurious in the way I want a car to be luxurious, the Model S is beautiful outside (I hate the interior), but I think the Model 3 is ugly as is the Model X IMHO. Just not what I’m interested in.

Model 3s are also considerably more expensive than a Lexus IS..
