They are for the most part. Doesn't mean they won't exist here and there, but in most vehicles they wont exist or be available.

I said dead. As long as they are available, they are not dead.

I don't think I have ever heard anybody say that V8s won't exist anywhere. However, as a consumer we already do and will have much less access to them. So, for most people yeah, they're pretty dead. Trucks are obviously behind cars in that regard, but its happening with trucks too.

The only Ford vehicles that are available with a V-8 engine are the Super Duty, F-150 and Mustang. The E-Series is dead, the Crown Vic is dead, the Expedition/Navigator went to an EcoBoost, etc.

It's only a matter of time honestly.

They can have my V8 when they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Oh sorry, I thought we were talking about gun control.

Seriously though, the Raptor is one of those trucks you buy for the "why the f--- not" factor. So "why the f--- not" put a V8 in it? IDGAF if the damn thing gets 4mpg and kills every living thing in a 50 mile radius with its carbon footprint...It's a purpose-built TOY. No different than people who buy Vipers or Corvette's. You don't buy a Raptor to go to the mall, unless you are just one of "those" people.

Besides all of that, the eco-whatever sounds like a really angry lawn mower. A half-ton truck that tops out at 90k? It better have a V8 in it...a damn big one.

Yea V8's are nice to drive. Wish the 5.7L was in my GX though.
