This story makes no sense. I doubt we will see any Lexus models with BMW engines going forward. The Supra made sense only because it will be such a low volume seller and Toyota anticipated it would have weak sales early on. The IS with a BMW powertrain would be disastrous for the Lexus brand.

Until Lexus/Toyota issues an official statement this is nothing but a magazine issuing statements and making assumptions to generate attention. I do like that render though looks good.
True, however I'm just speaking in general terms. No Lexus should have warmed over BMW tech. It should only have old outdated tech of its own design.

Nothing can change the physics of a shaky V6. It has an odd number of cyl on each bank. I think 3, but I'd have to have my assistant run the numbers again after lunch before you can quote me on that

While the only thing toyota seemed to contribute to the BMW partnership was test the engine reliability and tell them to replace every part until they were up to their standard (handing BMW the most reliable engine they ever had), I doubt they would use it in more cars not shared in the partnership. Just like how the BRZ/FRS engine isn't used in any other car. I assume the next gen engine has to be a dynamic force engine unless thats not going to make it to anything greater than 4 cylinders...

Jaguar USA lists 3,385lbs. And you know European models are typically lighter hence the 3,200lb quote
