fair enough, but it still did not meet first year sales goals. I think tha missed mark is important.

I've only seen two around Knoxville.
Never seen one new LS in downtown Toronto and we have all the cars. I have seen one once when I am in Savannah Georgia visiting my sister.

I’ve only seen 1 new LS since it came out.

It took awhile for me to start seeing the new LS around, but now I see a couple a week.

What I am amazed by is how quickly I am seeing tons of the new RAV4s out and about.

I don' know if the Mazda 6 and 3 will be leaving the US market. But they are strong sell on the EU market, so they are continuing to be around.
My guess would be that all sedans are going to disappear from your market. Like in the early 60's, when the "fins" on american cars started to become obsolete.
There is some kind of love about the trucks in the USA right now and I see nothing change until the 7 $ a gallon price comes back.

I've seen two, but on the other hand, I have also seen only about 4 or 5 7-series of this current generation, which has been out a bit longer. S-class is a much more common vehicle as well.

Mazda 3 is the 2nd best selling model for Mazda in the US. I would hope it's not going anywhere.

Cars are still 30% of US sales. The other 70% makes up numerous segments, not just pickups and SUVs/crossovers. There's minivans, large vans, etc. The idea that there won't be any more cars left will never happen. Not even close. Even if it sank to 20%, it's still like 2 million cars a year.

What do you mean "back to $7/gal"? It's never gone beyond about $4/gal average in the US. Right now we pay $2.25/gal. That must really get to you in Europe.

Reading today about sedans. Some interesting stats from Toyota US marketing. Sedans are down every year since 2015. There was a 14 percent drop in 2018 of sedan sales. Toyota expects the new Corolla to drop 18 percent for 2019 or a total unit amount of 53,000 (see how percent and units need to be mentioned for proper context, for anything). Sedans are down in more severe numbers in south and north California as well as Florida.

I hope Toyota at least keeps the Avalon. The XLE version of the Avalon is the only vehicle Toyota currently makes that I would seriously consider buying. (and then, only if the Lacrosse is no longer available). Same with Kia and the Cadenza.

Very likely, this will be the very last Avalon. My theory is that they will keep the name and use it for another model.

The Avalon still sells enough to justify but if this trend continues, you may be right. But only because the Lexus ES exists to shift potential Avalon buyers.

Most of of those cars aren’t going anywhere. LS isn’t going anywhere, Mazda 6 isn’t going anywhere. Avalon isn’t going anywhere. They’re not all of a sudden going to use the same names on Crossovers lol

The only rationale to keep that car is because you like it. Seriously...try and have some objectivity.

The outlook for the Cadenza in the US doesn't look good. Sales of less than 200/mo (151 in Feb) aren't encouraging.

Not good. Sales numbers I saw previously for the LS were about double.

Yes. Not very good. I wonder what how well it would if done if it were more in line with a Telsa S and they went all electric.
