Does it have something to do with Ford Fusion hybrid?

The new Sonata is truly a god-awful redesign.

The lights running up the hood is interesting, but the lower face is just bad.

The rear end is not horrible, but not great .

I
Interior is by the best aspect.

haha, yeah it looks bad up front in that shot, but then the latest camry and accord are both ugly up front too.

I agree, it's one ugly mother in that photo. Bass fish mouth after being hooked. But at least the non-sport model's front styling is cleaner.

Will have to look it up and see the difference.

It is pretty ugly. Hyundai has gone from one extreme to another with the Sonata. 2005-2009 redesign was just right. 2010-2014 was good as well.

The facelift in 2017 was horrible and this new model is just as bad. Hyundai is going end up like Acura and kill the momentum for their sedans. Sales are down almost 50% from 2014 until now.

The new Elantra is ugly too.

Hyundai is committed to this grill shape and it's awful. A real shame. Fortunately, there's the far better looking Kia alternatives for those that want a good looking car.

That "waterfall" grille design from their SUVs just doesn't work here. I kinda like the rear; but the front is bad.

I think that color doesn't work at all. The photos of the red one look miles better imo.

I like the new sonata. Lots of unique designs.

Camera trickery is sure important because this view is great:

You can make any car ugly (er?) if you know how to take a bad angle

Those are different versions, I think the top version is the Korean version which looks much better and very good, the bottom is the US version I believe which they have totally ruined the front end and look of the car.

It's amazing the difference that chrome trim piece makes that wraps around the front end. Although, it definitely looks like the front bumper is different between those 2 cars.

From what I read, it appears the U.S. version will come two ways. One as a standard model and one as the sport model. The sport model will have the squashed front. The standard model, which will be about 90% of the sales, will have the nicer front.

It's amazing between those two angles and trims, the top pic looks like a great car, the bottom looks horrid. Can't believe Hyundai would even publish a that angle.
