Impressive spin on the recent IIHS results on the Tundra

The Honda Ridgeline also did well in this test. The Ridgeline is not as heavy as the F150 and it doesn''t use a BoF architecture. The tests are done at speeds which make forward collision mitigation or auto-brake a non-factor. What the story is really about, is that a big brawny pickup isn't as tough as it may seem. The Tundra has some work ahead of it until the new one comes out.
The last thing you want is an intrusion/injury into the passenger side of your structure. This scenerio isn't as unlikely as it appears. A vehicle can strike any number of objects or a vehicle coming from the opposite direction at any number of angles. Why skimp on crash protection as the final way to prevent serious injury or a fatality?
