I can't agree with that quote. The RC was half-hearted, the LC reused an old powertrain available in a $65k car, the LS sales tanked in the 2nd year, RX is having quality issues and performance not up to par, NX is half hearted, UX is average at best.

Anyways, I like the Vellfire grill more than the Alphard, just looks less weird. The Alphard grill translates better to the spindle grill since it is already an hour glass shape.

Interesting. If Lexus does what Lexus does well with this vehicle, it could really be a hit for them.

Sooo... They bring this minivan to the US market instead of bringing back the Previa? Huh.

Its just never a vehicle that you will see here. In asian markets where "MPVs" are seen as a status vehicle this makes all the sense in the world. In the US, where they aren't...it doesn't. An Alphard based vehicle here doesn't fit the mold of what an "American minivan" is, its proportions will look strange to US consumers, and is Toyota likely to develop ANOTHER "MPV" style vehicle for the US market? Doubtful.

As for the TNGA platform not being a good platform or body regidity being "cliche", those statements dont really make any sense. Being unhappy with switchgear or vehicle size changes doesn't have anything to do with the platform. The TNGA platform is a tremendous improvement over the older platforms Toyota was using. Body rigidity is everything when it comes to building a car that feels premium, refined and well made. The reason why the new Avalon and ES feel as premium as they do compared to their predecessors is body rigidity.

New Sienna on the TNGA platform will drive like a vehicle that's $20,000 more expensive than the current one. The current model feels loose and sloppy compared to the Pacifica and the Odyssey, and the reason for that is body rigidity.

Default Revealed!

Available in "China and select Asian markets".

Designed as an ultimate comfort space, the rear cabin features a 26” color display, a refrigerator, umbrella storage, and center console with touch control panel. The panel controls the seat position, relaxation function, climate control and audio for the rear private space.

Two exterior color options are available for the LM: Black and White Pearl Crystal Shine.
The opulent four-seat configuration of the LM is suited to the chauffeured needs of the urban, business focused professional as it provides a relaxing, private environment that supports their business mission.
The LM is also available in a seven-seat configuration. This layout offers two separate luxury bucket seats for the first two rows and a third rear row of three seats across, finished in leather seat covering. The seats of the center row are distinguished by larger, more supportive armrests. This seven-seat configuration of the LM is ideally suited for business professionals who also intend to use the vehicle for family duty transportation.
The Lexus LM will be offered in two models (LM 350 and LM 300h) and two drive types (front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive). Availability will vary by market. The LM 350 uses a 3.5-liter DOHC petrol engine and LM 300h leverages the 2.5-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine and hybrid system.

Definitely not for the US market...but these things are everywhere in Asia and they look like this. Surprised it took Lexus this long to make one.

How far would you expect the front seats in a limousine to recline? This is, after all, a taller limousine and has the expected barrier between the chauffeur and the passenger cabins.
